You Can Upgrade new Phone Before its too Late
WhatsApp is contantly bringing new changes to their application for the better use and providing end to end encryption to the customer for better experience. For example ,it’s Currently working on subscription based model called whatsApp plus where customers will get new features across all devices and all operating systems.
As a Result WhatsApp will discontinue support for the older version which is going to happen very soon. WhatsApp’s decision was reported by the website WABetaInfo. According to the report,Support for devices that can’t run a newer version because of hardware limitations will end on 8 September 2026.
Which Devices will be affected?
WhatsApp said that from September only Android 6 or higher version will be supported. None other than means user of Android 5.0 or Android 5.1 will be left out. Both the Android versions are older its been a decade so whatsApp assumes that very few people using them at all.
As older version no longer going to receive software and security updates, they pose a risk anyway and should no longer be used at all. Tecgadg recommend that everyone should switch to newer or higher version of Android. Currently new version of Android 16 and Android 17 is going to be released this summer.
Wait for a notification
WhatsApp going to warn all the users affected by the end of support with a pop-up notification in the app. It will show the message like this, WhatsApp is no longer work on this device. It will also show that Backup your chat either via Google Drive or Locally on the device. Or you can transfer chat on new device running a supported version of Android.
If your Phone has older version then it’s a time to upgrade your Phone.
