The lawsuit originated after two publishers accused Google’s AI Overview feature of generating misleading information that portrayed their businesses as being involved in deceptive and unethical activities. According to the court’s findings, the AI system was not merely compiling information from online sources but was also generating its own interpretations and conclusions.
